St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival

ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM PARISH ORATORICAL FESTIVAL, 2019

Our Sunday school is preparing to host the Parish Oratorical Festival in March 2019. The presentation of topics will start at 11 am. The topics were distributed to the students in February in order to give them plenty of time to select and prepare their papers. We look forward to having all of our students from 4th to 12th grade participate in this program. A panel of 3 judges will review and grade each speaker. The speakers in the Elementary Division (Grades 4th to 6th grade) are not judged. We encourage not only our Sunday school students but also our GOYANS who are still in high school to participate in this event. For copies of the topics and the Registration Form, please stop by the Sunday school office. The Deadline to turn in the Registration Form will be announced. Scholarship money at our parish level will be awarded to the top 2 students in the Junior and Senior Divisions who also participate at the District level.

SPECIAL NOTE: Parents of High School seniors and graduates, how would you like to save approximately $65,000 dollars in college tuition? The Hellenic College in Brookline Massachusetts is offering The Chrysostom Scholarship to each parish's top senior division speaker. If a graduate applies for and is accepted to the Hellenic College, the Chrysostom Scholarship provides 100% of tuition for the recipient's first year of study, and, based on a GPA scale, up to 80% of tuition for three additional years. For more information, please visit the www.goarch.org site. On the header at the top, click on Ministry Outreach, then click on Religious Education. Then over in the left column, click on The St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival.

Please join us to hear our local presenters in March 2019. The date will be announced forthcoming. May God Bless all of our participants in this year’s Oratorical Festival. And may God give them the knowledge and faith to do well in this event. Wishing everyone Kali Sarakosti.
